I.O.M Summer series , Round seven 5th July 2026

A good breeze from just North of west was blowing when we arrived , and questions were asked as to what rig to put on , A rig was the choice, and it was perfect as over the course of the morning the breeze lightened .

A great course set up by OOD Tim H and the full length of the South Bank was used in a good beat and run course. 12 skippers out and we were missing at least four regulars from the line up. 1st race and Micky boy was out of the blocks fast with his Plastic fantastic ( Alioth ) and led from start to finish, Tim 134 keeping him honest, 3rd spot was taken by Chris Graves returning from a long absence from the club. ^ different designs on show today, and the racing was closer than you think. Race two was taken by Tim with his brit pop in what was to be a great battle with Rob W 97 , the start as always very important, and it is great to see club members sussing out early where you need to be to get a great start. As the morning wore on the start line was changed and although still a great beat it did become slightly left handed, but nothing wrong with that, by coffee break Rob W had taken two wins but Tim was definitely keeping his powder dry with a worst score of 2nd , Further down the field Paul K 44 was always a threat , and the concentration on the faces of Cooperman , Kevin and Sam was a picture, Richard J 89 with his Viss improved as the racing went on, Colin H 77 who has missed a few recently was trying out some Expo on his rudder, Mark N 80 was not having the best day but was having a right royal battle with Jeff C 18 and only a point separated them at the end. Rob W 97 ended the day with 4 wins Micky Boy with three wins but the winner by three points was Tim H 134 with his Brit Pop he had three wins, and it rounded off a great mornings racing in the lightening breeze Paul K 44 took the last win of the morning and is starting to knock on the door.

Many thanks to all for a very enjoyable morning and also for help putting the gear away , very well done to Tim for the win, and we look forward to the next round .
