Another fab day at the lake , ( must stop saying that ) , but the forecast was for very little breeze and once again we were in for a treat , 8 skippers rocked up, and Richard J who was in charge with his assistant Mike sorted out our course, it was a nice one with a short dog leg that gave us two nice beats if a little one sided but it was the best anyone could do. racing started bang on time and the first two races were bullets for Colin H 301 who was last weeks superstar wining the I.O.M day . he was closely followed home by Mike H 22 and Martyn A 877 this was almost the same for race two except Martyn and Mike swopped places, Mike was showing a marked improvement ( in my eyes ) looking from the rear of the fleet , but then I heard he has been practicing hard at another club !!, its working that’s for sure, Mike went on to take the next three races and was mastering the conditions brilliantly. Mick C 46 Kevin and Jen were struggling a little as was Richard J with a brand new boat. Race 6 had Kevin 02 take the win with the usual suspects taking 2nd and 3rd. The Breeze was perfect probably up to 70 % of A rig and sometimes very fluky especially around the weather mark and wing mark, but hey ho its the same for everybody. Race 7 and it was the third win of the morning for Colin H 301, but Mike 22 had his worst result of the morning an 8th ,, Martyn was keeping his powder dry and took second spot, and the racing was nip and tuck all the way. Race 8 and Mick C 46 after some tweaking with the Expo on the rudder managed his only win of the morning just taking it from Mike and Martyn, Last race of the morning had Kev 02 take the win. It was interesting that after some tweaks by Martyn on Colins boat , it did seem to be going a lot better, just more practice Colin and less holidays mate , take a tip from |Mike H 22 agh perhaps better not , all in all a great days racing , and many thanks to all for helping and taking turns on the start line . No quibble on the winner very well done Mike 2nd place was a slit on countback with Colin just taking 2nd and Martyn 3rd . Some great close racing .
