Great morning for racing, 10 skippers turned out, and for many reasons the fleet was depleted for this round, there was also a change of OOD’s assistant, which was Tim Cripps and just in case your thinking Mick C with the Sedici is back,, he shared the sailing of the Sedici 46 with Tim, who sailed very well , and apart from the starts sat on the bench, but both had a nice morning. Mick Cooper also suffering with major knee problems raced from the bench and had three good 3rd’s before retiring. The breeze was from the South west and backed into the South as the morning went on, Tim Hand 44 got off to a fantastic start wining the first 4 races before Chris E 74 clicked into gear and these two were well ahead of the fleet and the only race they did not win was won by Pete C 110 in race 6 The rain held off and despite being a bit fluky, racing was good and involved a bit of a dog leg course that worked well and kept skippers close to the bank.
On countback it was close but congratulations belong to Tim with his V10 ,
Many thanks to all the helpers especially Roger Bowtle who as usual gets there early and gets all the gear out, ready for racing.
