Nice one , 12 competitors came to the line for round three and despite a pretty gloomy forecast we all had a cracking days racing. The fleet started with top suit and sailed off the South bank, with two long and quite tricky beats you really needed to know the shifts and take advantage when they came your way , Darin set off and won the first three races, at astonishing speed, the weather was dry up until around 11am when a break for coffee was called , as we were having coffee the option to change to B suit was offered and half the fleet decided to stay on Top suit , the right decision however was just B suit by a whisker, and the racing fast and furious , By 1130 am the rain stated to come down but we were all having so much fun we hardly noticed it. There were some notable good results from a few skippers, Chris Corrin was very consistent and gained a couple of 4th’s Gordon Bennett was sailing very well and put a 3rd on the board, Geoff Burrell a relative newcomer to the sport ( well that’s what he told us ) sailed very well getting a couple of 3rd places. The competition at the front of the fleet is hotly contested, but Darin remains the bench mark with his lovely red boat, and is very hard to beat. But Dave Burke took two from him and Mick Chamberlain one, and we are determined, very determined to ensure we keep him on his toes . Well done to everybody for a fantastic mornings racing . Those of you who believed the weather forecast , we are sorry you missed a great morning .
