Another fine day at Lincoln 14 skippers in attendance, and at 0930 very little wind was on the cards but as Darin was out in the dingy a little rustle here and a little rustle there, and by briefing time we had a steady breeze from the South and with A rigs all round the first race got underway, Paul K with his V10 got a great start and was never put under pressure to take the first win of the morning, and this was followed in the second race with a second place and the boat was going very well, Darin took the win in that race with Tim coming in third place. Race 3 and it was Darin again and Mick C taking 2nd spot with his Venti and Tim a steady 3rd.
Racing was tight all through the fleet, which involved a great beat and run course twice round on the East bank; race 4 it was Mick C’s turn to take the win With Tim and Darin in close attendance despite Mick C standing in front of both skippers to try and obstruct their view , it worked ,,, the course was changed at coffee break slightly to give sharper angles. which worked well, Darin was extremley consistant, as was Tim, the racing was superb and the chat on the bank was as it should be we were missing some skippers on the day, but still managed a great fleet of twelve boats. Brit Pops still in charge here, but interesting to see 6 different designs on show, Darin had 4 wins Tim had one Mick had two Paul had two and Jen took race 6 by the narrowest of margins. All in all a great mornings racing , and many thanks to the guys sorting stuff and everybody who helped put stuff away, especially Paul who’s boat let him down for the last three races .
Well done to Darin for the win but rest assured we are still chasing .
