A fine sunny day greeted 16 competitors for the first round of the winter series for I.O.M , The only guy who didn’t turn up was the wind, Racing was started on the south bank after a two minute silence for remembrance day. The club welcomed two visitors Darin and Dave and race one drifted off the line heading for the weather mark , Darin showed his skill in light airs closely followed by Dave 30 and Graham 88, Tim sailing his Mums Robot 169 was showing some fine form early on getting a couple of third places, Tim only recently making the transition from Dingy s. After race three a coffee break was called and Mick C changed the course so we could sail from the East bank with a half decent windward leeward course , two laps were required but at least the boats were moving, and the last couple of races there was more than just a faint zephyr to help the yachts along . Racing finished at a slightly later time at 1250 . Looking through the scores many of you will study where you actually went wrong as the points were very close all through the fleet. Congratulations to Darin , But three club members I think will be well pleased with there performance apart from Graham who got a second were Tim 169 Mick 131 and Bob 58 , Alan had a rudder failure in one race which just goes to prove you cannot afford anything to go wrong,in your series on a Sunday Morning result are below , but we look forward to the next round which is round 2 on the 30th November .
