A FANTASTIC DAY
What a fantastic mornings racing at Scotland Farm, Bright sunshine 10 to 12 knot breeze from the north, say no more. The day started with the Bacon Buttie gang at just after 8am which continued till around 0930 and was then a self-service area for those who wanted more , Jen hand sorting all the goodies out of the wind in the gazebo. Racing started promptly at 10 am with a long first beat that proved more than tricky, the shifts were large and some small but you had to take advantage of every little bit. Micks V9 first race unraveled before the start with the pivot point string, coming loose, Chris 74 with his second time out BritPop took full advantage closely followed by Jen Hand 69, and Alan Newman 0 getting a third with his AB4, the next three races were won by Mick C 46 with some ding dong battles all through the fleet and some very close racing, Phil Harpham 43 sailing his Evo did very well recording a filth overall. A half time break and the cakes came out to celebrate Gordon and Micks birthdays and along with more bacon butties loadsa money found its way into the container, all in aid of Sports Relief, total raised £ 62.50 a princely sum from the 12 competitors which was down on last time out but those who missed it missed a great day sailing . Our thanks go to Norman and Ed who put the gazebo up late on Saturday, Jen Hand for organizing the bacon butties, the cake suppliers, and I would also like to say how nice it was to see Roger Bacon and his wife Liz after quite a long absence due to other problems, we would like to wish them both well for the future and hope to see them at lake side more often in the future. Results below and a few pictures of the days mainly eating and chatting.
