Another fantastic day at Scotland Farm, a little chilly but a perfect top suit breeze that had the fleet sailing along the East bank for most of the day. 10 competitors took part, a lower than normal turnout due to conflicting events elsewhere. Bob Geary 58 and Mick Hunt 131 started strongly and by coffee break it was Bob just edging it from the two Mick’s, Mick C in fact was only out of the top two on one occasion after the first two races. Around 1130 am the breeze filled in and there was some doubt about A or B suit and some skippers changed down, Ivan 79 being one of them and his performance got better as the day wore on gaining a 3rd and a fourth in the last four races. Bob G 58 had to leave at lunch time after a string of good results , and Jim Dinmore must be pleased with himself gaining a fourth in race 16, In fact it was noticed that both Jim and Bert , two of our less experienced sailors were sailing very well throughout the day , Jen Hand was beset with problems, which she is hoping to sort out before the Veterans Nationals at Eastbourne this weekend coming weekend. All skippers enjoyed their day and a chit-chat at Lunch time, when the sun finally showed the lake looked fantastic. 17 races were sailed using most of the East bank,, and we were told by a walka – meter that we had walked 4.2 miles during the course of the day, results are below .
