Three starters came to the line for the I.O.M Dellfield trophy in glorious conditions with sunshine ans a perfect south westerly around ten knots. we had a visitor who stayed the whole day and because he had not brought his own boat he took turns with our boats and competed in all races , Our old friend Martin Lambert ( less of the old ) came to see us on the eve of going into Nottingham hospital for surgery , It was a delight to see him as he has not been able to get up to the lake all season so far , He thoroughly enjoyed his day and so did we , honours were mixed and the racing close and when he took over his old boat from Bob and blasted away into the lead we could see the old magic was still there , He helped us all set our sails and gave some good advice and you could tell he had really missed it and cant wait to get back to it again . I spoke to Martin on Friday after he had had the operation and although a bit sore was in good spirits , He did say he wanted me to thank everybody for a great days sailing , he enjoyed it just as much as we did ,,,, so get well quick Martin we wish you speedy recovery and all the very best for the future , the results are posted below with some pictures of both events
Ok Mick and Bob with the same points but Bob wins with more first places while Mick sailed a very conservative series , well done Bob
The afternoon saw much of the same after a sarnie and a cuppa , the wind and sun still with us and we followed the same format with Martin sailing our boats a different one in each race , After race Three we noticed heavy rain clouds forming in the South West and decided to have Just one more race to complete the series , to be honest we had also got a little fed up with the dingy fleet showing not the slightest respect and sailing through our marks and even hitting them so only four races were sailed and the results are below , with a win for Colin after a little tweaking with Martin on his set up , lets hope he has forgotten by next week Well done Colin .
WELL DONE COLIN
