DF 95 Winter series round three 11th December 2022

Not a great deal to report on for todays racing , The weather won . But in truth 7 skippers showed up with great intentions to have some races, OOD’s Mick and Pete mainly Pete got a course sorted on the South bank , put some rock salt on the middle jettyand with about 2 knots of breeze we were off, Yes it was painful, and there was silence in the control area, 3 quite long beats later and it was Mick Cooper who had the edge on all of us to take the bullet, Rewind for race two and Mick Cooper took the win once again by far superior sailing skills. We then had a 5 minute break with one or two opting for a trip to Gregs for a bacon buttie and a cuppa but were stopped in there tracks by an offer from Pete 678 of a shortened course, Boats to the water and by this time the whiff of a breeze disappeared completely, with boats not even getting near the start line, the call went up for the bacon buttie option to be reinstated and so for the next half hour skippers struggled to get there boats to a jetty,

So you cant take it away from Mick C 53, top of the pile, well done Mick , but thanks to all skippers who braved the forecast to come out to play a great effort, This has to be a first at Scotland farm that we have had to terminate racing due to lack of wind.

I must say we also had a couple of visitors Steve and Jeff who have both been before, it was not inspiring racing but I believe we shall see both guys sailing DF 95’s at our wonderful club in the very near future.
