10 Skippers for round 9 won by Chris E, with Rob W in second and Adrian C in third. All the wins were recorded by the top three , A few skippers missing ,,
report by Chris E many thanks
The racing started off on the South bank with the conditions very different at the start where there was plenty of steady wind to the windward mark, where there was not very much, but a fair start line made the first beat very fair to all those who started either at the windward end of the line or those at the leeward end.
Rob started off well by winning the first race but others were close on his tail. The second race saw an incident around the first mark for which Chris E sought clarity, and he subsequently accepted responsibility and withdrew from the race in which Adrian sailed well to record a win. Rob returned to winning ways in the third race.
At the break the wind had come around so much that we reset the course to sail off the East bank.
This brought a change in the sailing and Chris E soon took to the course and conditions and recorded 4 out of 5 wins, but all of the races were close between himself and Rob with others coming in very close behind. The standard has clearly improved this year and competitiveness has increased with skippers learning about their boat set up and sailing strategy when starting and approaching a marks.
