A great day for racing , and Lincoln welcomed 21 competitors for round 4 of the Midland District Champion Skipper series , Bacon Butties , tea and Coffee from the new clubhouse started the day withe weather playing ball full on sunshine and a decent breeze from the west. PRO Mick Chamberlain elected to start from the South Bank and two races were held With Darin Ballington getting the bullit in both, Racing then transferred to the East bank as the wind had veered around 20 degrees , it became a bit of an eye site test for some skippers at the windward mark but most coped ok, funnily enough Darin only took one win whilst we sailed on the bank, but Rob Wilson managed to get three wins. Just before lunch it was all move again to the south Bank due to a change in wind, strength of the wind was probably 80 % off top suit and made for some great racing. Lunch was just a quick half hour to let everybody get a few calories down and then more fast and competitive racing. The day was cut short a little earlier due to the sudden illness of one of our skippers, I am pleased to report he has been held overnight in Lincoln General and his condition as of late Sunday night is stable. The results are below so congratulations go to Darin and Rob who with five wins each took the top two places Chris Elliot ended up third after a steady performance. I would just like to thank all the guys and girls of the Club for all the help in and out of the clubhouse , a great effort, and messages are already coming in thanking you for the wonderful hospitality that Lincoln always offers. I don’t need to name you, your card is marked, Thank you also to all the competitors who sailed in great spirit despite one or two frustrating moments.
We will see you all in Manor Park in about 4 weeks time .
