Fun day of racing 2nd January 2022 at Lincoln

Well 2022could not have started any worse for me at 0630 on Sunday morning not feeling too good , I did a lateral flow test , and it was positive. but as I do the entry post here , I am feeling fine , Sounds like everybody had a great day with the weather and the racing , so over to Pete who very kindly did the race report and gave us a couple of pictures, well done everybody and a huge welcome back to the club Darin Ballington . he will I am sure, add loads, to the hugely competitive I.O.M fleet,
What a cracking morning blue sky, good breeze with the odd major gusts to get you thinking. 2 fleets sailing on the east bank. IOM first off with the DF95’s a minute later. Darren who had arrived earlier had laid two gates as the windward. IOM around one with the 95’s rounding the gate nearer the east bank. Both fleets had around 8 entries with Jen swopping to her 95 for the 2nd half. Winners, Mike William’s 95’s Darren IOM. both getting several race wins during the 8 to 10 races completed. Last race finished just after 1pm. Winners getting the first choice of donated raffle stuff ,with Darren putting his back in, Mike then drew the sail numbers with several skippers selecting a raffle prize before they ran out. Darren winning the last chocolate orange. Great mornings racing with polite exchanges over rule infringement. Might be worth considering an Open event 1st of the Year in the future, the two fleets worked well with no more crossing incidents than normal. Get well soon Mick, you missed a great morning. Pete W.
Cheers guys and gals see you next week ok late edition,, below are results, you are all winners .

MERRY XMAS TO EVERYBODY

FROM ALL AT THE CLUB ,, ENJOY
I.O.M Winter series round 6, 19th December 2021
A very foggy morning greeted the 10 skippers for round six of this winter series, a slight breeze coming out of the North West enabled OOD Chris Elliott to set a good beat and run course on the South bank.
Pete W 65 got a first in the first race but was unable to hold off the challenge of the Brit Pop from Chris E 74 who won the next two races. Peter H 60 with a new to him Italico was having fun and needs just a tad more experience to get up the leader board but I am sure it will come. with the The racing was slow as you would expect, but the buoys were easily spotted in the fog, and some good tight racing ensued. Mick C 46 was sailing his new Venti and seemed very pleased with its performance and is looking forward to the 2022 season.
Both Jen H 69 and Mick Cooper 39 were not sailing there best and Adrian C 77 was also below par on the day, Chris E 74 got another bullet in race 5 and that just about sealed his position on the day , with Pete W 65 having mid morning blues, But finally came good in the last two races of the day, Dave R 57 continued his fine form with the Vision edging out Mick C 46 on countback, with his two race wins in races 6 and 7.
Well done to Chris E for the win, and well done also to the race team including Chris the OOD for setting up and clearing away , many thanks to Tony J who did the scoring. and Alan Edgar for a few piccys
Just like to wish everybody at the club a merry Xmas and happy new year and remember round 7 is on the 9th January 2022 so see you all next year .

DF 95 Winter series round Three 12th December 2021
What a pleasant change to have warm sailing conditions more Spring like than Xmas time, a pleasant top suit breeze, and the 13 skippers had big smiles on there faces.
Pete Walters had us set up for a box shaped course on the East bank, and it was just about a perfect beat and run course, hot of the line for the first race was Pete W 678, and a very warm welcome back to Gordon B 38 who took second spot, Mick Ch 46 got third spot and then went on the take the bullets in the next two races. Mick Cooper 53 sailed out of his skin to take second with some exceptional sailing skills in race two, and I have to say some very good performances were seen from Mike W 76 and Roger Bowtle 448 who has had quite a long lay off from racing. The racing was very keen and competitive, and with the shifts it was very easy to get caught out . Pete W 678 was not his usual self and it should be noted it always more difficult when you are race officer and have other things on your mind ( like the start line ), Jen Hand 69 appeared to be star of the day and every time I looked she seemed well out in front, in fact she won more races than anyone with 4 Bullets and some very good second places, her racing skills and tactics are getting better every week and she seemed very relaxed, maybe a weight has been lifted from her shoulders.
Mick C 46 seemed to be finding his old form but do not lets talk too soon, but as it turned out he was more consistent, and took the win by 1 point from Jen on the morning, probably most improved skipper was Mick Cooper 53, and Alan Newman must also have been pleased with his performance and getting a couple of third places in this company is no mean feat.
Got to say a very well done top Mick C 46 for his win ( you have no idea how happy I am )
All our thanks must go to Pete W our OOD and Peter Helen for doing the finishing and of course the race results, and all who helped put the kit away after racing.
Next Sunday is the last race of the year for the I,O,M class and provided the weather is fair we could have a great turnout at Scotland Farm, come along and see what radio racing is all about starts at 10 am
