Another fantastic day at Scotland Farm for round two of the summer series for the I.O.M. 17 competitors came to the line including two visitors from Manor Park and Rotherham. Racing took place on the east Bank and a long windward leeward course was set about 30 yards from the bank. The breeze started at around 8/10 knots and steadily built by lunchtime to 12/14 knots enabling most competitors to hang on to top suit , with the occasional dive on the run in the gusts. Rob Wilson was race officer and with the help Of Darin B and his daughter Penelope, moved marks as necessary to create a perfect beat. Penelope and her sister Emily then did a fantastic job on the finish line throughout the day A real Family affair With Tracy B ( Mum ) sailing as well, so nice to see the whole family involved.
Phil Harpham has worked tirelessly to build his Goth XP from scratch and finally the boat was ready for its first sail sporting a new set of sails from CAT SAILS and the boat looking great in its green and white livery , the boat after one or two teething problems with the winch, sailed above all expectations and Phil can be very proud of his achievements.
The racing was dominated by Darin who achieved a score of 14 points from 14 races , He is certainly raising the bar at Lincoln and is definitely the man to beat, Close on his heels was Dave B 30 who also managed to squeeze in a few wins, Mick C managed a third place sailing his AB4 design, Rob Wilson who did a fantastic job as race officer came in fourth and Jen Hand was next up in fifth. Chris C 18 is getting the hang of the ISIS and will improve the tuning , He also has new sails again from Cat so watch out when he gets them on.
Many thanks to our visitors for coming to sail with us,, if you liked it, come again you are more than welcome, and tell your friends , The Locals at Scotland Farm are friendly . Many thanks to every body who made the day very enjoyable and the racing superb.
