SEPTEMBER NEWS
Hi Guy’s , It was great to see some new people at the club last Sunday and hopefully they will have enjoyed their experience (despite the severe weed problem) and will come back and have another go. Clive has agreed he will join us for next year with his Robot and of course his lovely wife Jenny . David and his wife from Barton on Humber and of course Roger from Grimsby with his lovely homemade ( out of wood) One Metre will hopefully return and become members, Ken was also they’re trying out the red boat and I am sure if he perseveres will pick up all his old skills This Sunday is supposed to be RM match racing but as we all agreed two or three weeks ago until we get rid of the weed problem it is not worth having the competition so just free sailing I am afraid . The weed puller that I showed a few members on Sunday has had to be returned to Rotherham but I have asked a friend of mine to make one up exactly the same , as soon as we have got it, it will be in our shed for anybody to use , Ivan has been getting stuck in to quite a bit of shrub pruning of late and when I get back after this weekend away I will try to organise some work party’s to start clearing the weed in the bay , (will borrow the tool from Rotherham again ) I will email everybody early next week but the first days I would be looking at is next Thursday or Friday the 13/14 Sept to have a couple of hours at the lake . I was at a committee meeting with the main club this week and the weed problem was mentioned and they are looking at ways to control or get rid of , so watch this space , If you go down this Sunday I have been reliably informed that all the old rubbish steel will be gone so we can start sorting out our area and get it ready for grass seed ( and some plants ) maybe . No news as yet on the Hope that RILMAC will help do our tube jetty but I am hopeful it will happen .
If any of the Guy’s that came last Sunday need any advice on anything I will be back from Tuesday next week so please feel free to call me on 01427 610864

LINDUM TROPHY RESULTS
Three Marblehead came to the line for the Lindum trophy , There was not a great deal of wind although it did fill in from the north east to a steady breeze, Weed continues to be a problem and unless we start to get rid of what washes up on the banks it will just float out into our sailing area everytime the wind changes direction , Graham travelled a long way for the race which was poorly supported .results below

Sunday 19th Lindum Trophy
This coming Sunday is the Lindum Trophy for Radio Marbleheads the weather looks fine and settled so we are looking for a good turnout , unfortunately the start box is not working and hopefully Ivan will have a back up until we can resolve the Issue ,The other small problem is there doe’s not appear to be a trophy, so we have reverted to the certificate back up, which have been sent to Bob to take to the lake on Sunday . David and myself have been down during the week and chopped a few trees down and the site will look better as soon as the scrap man takes away all the old metal work that has been dumped on our site. From next month if we all agree I would like to try to sort out some work party’s to do various tasks to improve our area but more of that later as I am still trying to chase the scaffold company in Lincoln to see if they can help .
