JUBILEE TROPHY AT LEEDS BRADFORD

Sunday the 14th April was a breezy day by ant standards , and so it proved out on the water high up by the Leeds Bradford airport, strong gust swept down the lake causing severe diving for yachts even though c suit was the order of the day , many retirements from all five clubs made the scoring tricky and damage was rife , Our own member Dave Gunson lost his fin in the afternoon which depleted the Lincoln / Leeds Bradford team to two member s  . other teams fared worse with Rotherhams total team retiring on different occasions shortly after Lunch , Weecher led By John Tushingham was the least effected and finally picked up the team prize , overall winning skipper on the day was Mick Chamberlain from Lincoln with the Lincoln outfit getting a third place in the team set up , a fantastic Lunch was set on by the Leeds ladies of pie and pee,s followed by apple pie and ice cream and if that was not enough cheese and biscuits followed by tea and coffee , how much £3.00 you will not get better , and it is good to keep this camaraderie together , and not as some clubs do put profit before anything else.

the results are posted below unfortunately there are no pictures at the moment but if some come to us we will publish them

RULES DAY AT ROTHERHAM

John Tushingham very kindly gave up his time to come to Rotherham help with understanding the racing rules of sailing , the event was well attended with 5 Guest members of Lincoln MYC . John set out to outline the rules from the start line through the race to the finish line inviting questions and also adding some tactical decisions for good measure , there was an hours break for lunch which was a feast of Pie and pee’s  followed in short order by a delicious crumble with custard and ice cream great home cooked grub that went down very well in deed and our thanks must go to Anne and Jackie for the delicious food and of course to Sam who organized the event , After lunch boats were rigged and we had some impromptu racing with John sailing his new boat CHINE’S which looked very nice, and certainly very quick,, Afternoon tea came at 3pm and those who had the Bakewell tart in the afternoon were calling for the event to be put on every week, as it was the best value events ever held £ 5.00 you can’t get better , a few pictures below will remind us of this get together , and of course our thanks to John Tushingham.

FUNDRAISING LINCOLN

Some of you will remember the A.G.M some months ago , and some may also remember that we suggested that we sell of the club I.O.M and also three other boats the club had accumulated , One of our members Graham Keithley agreed that because he had a little time on his hands he would repair the boats and get them to a reasonable standard to sell ( on eBay ), I ( mick ) got all the bits and bobs together with any parts i felt may be useful and delivered to Grahams shed ( shush cos i don’t think his wife knows ), any way some three months later we have a result and Graham has sold all four boats and has put the incredible amount of £ 621 .47 in for the club funds , and as Graham said in his Email it was well worth the effort , I am sure you will all join with with me in a big thanks to Graham for his efforts for the club .
