Sunday 28th october saw 5 skippers come to the line to contest the                Rick’s trophy , the breeze from the South West was not warm and about 80% of top suit ,  New member David Neal was to be the first person to try out the handicap system and to start had a thirty-second advantage over the rest of us , In Race one he got a first and race two and three got two seconds , we then reduced his handicap so he went off at 20 seconds and for the remaining three races was never out of the top three , winning the last race and picking up the trophy , his first for the club and we all congratulate him on his performance , and have reduced his margin for the next few races to ten seconds , the placings are as follows

the RNLI race was not run and it is likley it will not be run this year .

Hi everybody , last Sunday saw a fabulous day with light winds and bright sunshine , seven of us turned up to do battle but unfortunately is was to be a battle of the weed . The constant South Westerlies that we have had for the last few weeks finally ran out and the weed that had been washed up on the north shore was just laid to wait untill the wind changed and then the northerly breeze that started on friday just blew it back all over the lake , and made sailing impossible , so we chatted and drank tea discussed the new jetty and so on a so forth , Day over , the MONGROLS TROPHY WILL BE RERUN ON THE 18TH OF NOVEMBER so please put it in your diary .

This Sunday the 14th will be RM’s with free sailing in the morning and the REG DOY Frostbite in the afternoon , I would be grateful if somebody could send me a report of the results as sadly I cannot be with you ,

Sunday 30th September saw brisk winds from the south west for this RM meeting, seven yachts came to the line 5 Marbleheads and 2 I.O.M small sails were called for many opting for C suits and the 2 IOM’s  going to B suit, a windward leeward course was set with almost 2 laps to complete , Bob the G Geary soon showed his dominance with three straight wins before Ivan had had a chance to chance to catch his breath and take race 4 but normal service was resumed for race 5 and race 6 ,, Interestingly to see Colin post two good results in race 1 and two a third and a second before retirement ruled him out ,,  If Colin can do a bit of maintenance and keep the water on the out side of the boat he could be a threat to us all ,   ( the pot is under the pot by the back door) Our potential new member David is certainly getting the hang of things and I for one was pleased with the way he is handling his boat, I am pretty sure that come 2013 he will be giving us all a run for our money , top spot went to Bob and very much the same for the Marion’s trophy but with more gusty conditions, Bob romped home again sometimes winning by a huge margin , We all packed up a tad early as the rain was threatening, but I have to say it was a great day’s racing on a weed free Apex well done to all and see you next week for the IOM showdown,.
