DF65 Winter Series Round 1 15th October 2017
7 enthusiastic skippers turned out on this, the first round of the DF65 Winter series. The weather was unseasonably mild but the wind was fitful from the SW dropping to next to nothing on occasions. The lake however was very consistent ensuring that all skippers were affected by weed all morning. The competition was more like a lottery than racing.
Somehow 7 races?? were completed in the allotted time.
Duty officers were Bob and Ivan

IOM Summer Series Round 8 1st October 2017
Wow , what a fantstic mornings racing, A bit of rain for less than an hour, a stirling job by the OOD’s Dave and Neil , and a great turnout. Racing was on the East bank with a light south westerly to start that gradually increased as the morning wore on. Great start by Jen hand with the two main contenders getting greened out. Chris E then went on to take the next two, with a port starboard taking Mick C out of contention for two races. New boy chris G showed some good form and consistancy, the racing was fast and furious with no quarter given or expected, Dave B gbr 30 was most consistant and came out on top 1 point seperated Chris E and Mick C who had the greater Discards probably some of the best racing at the farm for a while. Well done to all who competed, good turnout and a good spririt, nice to see Dave B and Jen H back after quite a long layoff and we can now look forward to the winter series.
If you have not entered for next weeks Clive Hand get your entries in before Thursday .

IOM Summer Championship and Dragon Flite 95 Summer Series Round 8 24th September 2017
A rather small fleet of 4 IOM and 3 DF 95 enjoyed a very pleasant mornings sailing. A light south easterly breeze allowed sailing from the south bank and a total of 10 races were comleted. The usual format was used and was again successful.
The dreaded weed was in evidence on a few occasions but appeared much less than previous weeks.
Thanks to Ed W and Gordon B for their efforts as the duty crew.

Dragon Force 65 Round 7 17th September 2017
The final round of the DF 65 summer series and 7 skippers had a frustrating morning with fog and very little wind , by eleven am the sun came out and made for a very pleasant morning. The wind coming from the North for the first time in weeks did not help but a course was laid on the South bank Ish. Bob Geary most consistant on the day took the honours from Mick C and Keith H. Many thanks go to the OOD’s. We can now look forward to the Winter series thats starts early in October.
