DF 95 Winter series round 3
I.O.M Winter series round 5
Lovely blue sky , lightish winds from the North 14 skippers, but hey Just a word of warning if you are up for OOD,, ensure the dingy is tied onto something before you go for a full lifeboat launch !!!! nuff said, the course on the south bank was perfect, a great beat and run round twice, and there was enough shifty stuff to catch you out, we welcomed Darin and Tracy as visitors ,and Darin showed us all how it should be done with a superb show of sailing/racing his 20 year old Widget, his worst result was a fourth, (and I noticed he was eating a sandwich,) just joking but it showed us all we have a way to go. A variety of designs on show here and the racing was really good and competetive up and down the fleet, Pete W showed some good form and Adrian C is now getting the hang of the Sedici , despite a bit of a dodgy looking bend in the mast. The Two lady skippers were seperated by 1 point, and had some great races, Chris G was wearing long trousers today but his head was still in Mexico. Disapointing show from Mick Cooper today, and I am sure we will all study the score sheet and hold our hands up to some errors in tactics and maybe trim and correct before round 6 .
A great mornings racing Thanks to Chris E and all the helpers , and many thanks also must go to Geoff S who supplied some juicy cake for the half time break and also for working out the scores for us .
.
DF 65 Winter series round two

Not a Df 65 I know , but this is a Kanton 2 It took the first three places in the I.O.M worlds held in Brazil just this week, Like it ??? Venti was 4th ,,,, and Our own ” GBR Skipper ” Peter Stollery was 5th with a Brit Pop,, extremley well done in a fleet of 80 yachts. Will we see a Kanton at Scotland farm ????.
I.O.M Winter series round 4
November , and it felt like it , fog, no wind wet under foot. But hey whats going on 14 skippers turning up for what i reckon is the worst day of the year so far ,, aha I got it Chaz is having his birthday party 76 years young and loadsa cake in the clubhouse yum yum.
Ok just after ten and a 2 knot breeze came in from nowhere and hey presto we were racing on the South bank, Chris took the first two races but it was nip and tuck with Jen Keith and Mick Ch all vying for a piece of the action, The wind increased very slightly which helped but due to the direction of the wind the course was a little one sided, Racing stopped after race race three to rewrite the score sheet as it was sodden wet , after the short break for the cake we moved to the East bank and the breeze filled in maybe 6/7 knots but was still one sided ( Just unfortunate direction ) Peter Cog was right up there Chris G found a loose bit of string which he pulled tight and the boat lunged ahead ,, amazing . Adrian was not having a great day but it is allways more dificult when you are organizing everybody, Great to see Roger back with us but water in his Tranny messed his day up.
Gotta say a great fleet out today and a decent bezze at the end Chris took the honours on countback and there was close racing all thru the fleet, Guys and gals just take a look at your disgard race try and remember where you may have gone wrong and rectify that mistake next time to get yourselves a better result.
Thanks to OOD’s and helpers
