Last chance to tune up

Hi All, This Sunday is actually marked down as an I.O.M day , but I am sure you have noticed that the next Sunday the 22nd April is the first R M trophy race, Now Some of you may feel confident that there R M settings are ok, and are confident of pulling off the win, some of you may feel that this Sunday would be a good chance to finally tune up your R M and test out those sail settings, and make sure the boat is fast. and also while at home set the boat up in the garden  and  make sure that no strings are fraying and any weak points are attended to , You do not want any breakages on the day of the regatta, so check the winch and the servo , check the rudder linkage, check the patches are on tight , in fact anything that will affect the smooth running on the day of the regatta  should be checked ,. Sunday could be a good day to leave the I.O.M at home and give the R M a final test, so you are ready for the  John Waller R M Challenge trophy on the 22nd April ,.  The ball is in your court , you decide , Unfortunatley I will not be able to come to the lake this Sunday, but will be there to O D the event on 22nd and hopefully sail my I.O.M .

Have a great day on Sunday whatever you decide to sail , and I will get the John Waller Trophy polished up ready for the 22nd.

EASTER SUNDAY at LINCOLN

7 competitors turned out for a great day’s racing at Lincoln , and Jenny Hand after getting clive trimmed up kindly did the scoring for us , The weather was kind about 12 c and the wind could not have been better, staight down the lake enabling a good windwood leeward course with a gate at the leeward end  , and when the big dingys were not on the course a wing mark as well, Mick had his new Moster from Italy , and it performed well , with most skippers having a go with it, and managing to win , It certainly seems very quick and agile in the conditions we had , The racing was very even and we had 14 races , My thanks go to Graham who travelled the furthest, and to the visitors Brian and Jackie , Clive and Jenny From Rotherham

See you next time

GREAT DAY AT THE LAKE

!ST April and the weather men said cold and wet , APRIL FOOL, The weather was fantastic and the wind blew straight down the lake, mid range top suit , with a good beat and run course , Bob had his newish R.M as well as his tried and tested and honours were pretty even amongst us all , a few photos are in the gallery or on this page .

EASTER SUNDAY SAILING , I have spoken to one or two members about popping down On easter Sunday and it looks positive , so if any of you want to come down same time same place , and I would suggest bringing a flask and a sandwich just in case the weather is great and we want to sail on a bit later say  13. 30 to 14 .00  two oclock in real money , I will try and invite some guys from other clubs if I can , Ok all for now hope to see you next Sunday.                                 Mick

MARKET BOSWORTH CANCELLATION

Market Bosworth IOM MDCS round 1 EVENT CANCELLATION.
Fao All Entrants,
I am sorry to have to inform you all but the above event scheduled for this Sunday (1st April 2012) has been CANCELLED due to circumstances beyond the race teams control.
In discussion with the park management this morning to check on parking and access to the water it appears that not only is there a duathlon going on which we could have coped with, but there is also a dinghy sailing event double booked with us. (Left hands and right hands).
Plainly their sailing would cause massive disruption to our event and so in consultation with Laurie (aro) we have reluctantly decided to call the race off as we could not hold a race to the standard expected and not wishing those travelling to turn up only to be disappointed.
We appreciate your support for this event in the past and will invite you back when we get a rescheduled date.
