Dragon Force 65 Summer Series Round 6 12th August 2018

At the start of racing the weather was not promising. Still damp and drizzly from the overnight rain and very little wind from the SW. A course was set up and down the East bank. A small amount of weed affected most skippers at some point but as the sailing progressed the rain stopped, the wind filled in to a fairly steady breeze which became close to the top of the A+ rigs comfort zone and the weed appeared to be less of a problem.

Racing was close as can be seen from the results. 5 skippers achieving a win. Congratulations to Bill and comiserations to Gordon who lost out to Roger on countback ( 3 second places to 2}

Thanks to Alan and Peter for their efforts during the morning.

IOM Summer Series Round 5 29th July 2018

Cold Wet Miserable,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,!!!!!!!!  you must be joking, The wind from the south east was a tad blustry the rain held off most of the time and the racing was fast and furious with some great races from the South Bank, more good news ,, the big jetty is now usable, more good news ,,,, no frigging weed at all.

Only seven of us but the race team Jen and Peter did a grand job and we all had fun. B suit was the order of the day for all and the gust had the boats doing a bit of diving at times , the beat had some big shifts and you played them or died. Chris Graves had the perfect trim and controlled the racing from the front, Mick Chamberlain wished he had stayed in the pub in Carenaevon, but hey it was truly great racing.

Very well done to Chris superb peformance

well done the race team

Dragon Force 65 Summer Series Round 5 22nd July 2018

The day was warm turning to hot with a light W to WS breeze providing a long course along the south bank. Weed was slight but ever present ensuring that all skippers were affected at some time.

As can be seen from the results racing was tight with 3 skippers tied on 23 points. The tie was broken in favour of Gordon but not until 4th places were considered.

Thanks to Gordon (OD) and Mick (AOD) and a mention for Roger for doing the scoring.

IOM Summer Championship and Dragon Flite 95 Summer Series Round 4 8th July 2018

DF 95 report ,,A great day dawned good breeze and wall to wall sunshine 13 skippers enjoyed the morning and the race officers did a fab job , A little on the DF 95 racing it was nick and tuck and a little frustrating due to a bit of salad but more of that in the next report for the I.O.M it was all taken in good spirit, and we all had a great morning, Alan had to retire with a dead rudder servo.

At the end of the day three Brit Pops took top spots and many congratulations to Jen Hand for leading the bouys home, all I can say is it must be a good trim you had on today Jen. Nice to see Roger Bowtle  right up there with his Lintel, and great to see Chaz back racing, after his visit to specsavers.
