Your duty crew for the day Sam (OOD) and Ron (ARO) were down at Scotland Farm to set-up just as it was getting fully light, racing for the day was to be on the South Bank with a simple beat/run course. Many thanks to Ron for getting involved even moving marks around, I reckon we’ve got a budding OOD there. Just for a change it was raining, but as preparations were about complete the rain abated and stayed away for the remainder of the day. With eight eager competitors racing was soon underway, however with LRSC being a helpful kind of venue Jen Hand missed the first race having helped new member Alan get his boat to the start line, average results have been given for this race. The first race was won by Mick C (46), this set the tone for the rest of the day with Mick taking all of the wins apart from two races which were shared out between Martin A (66) and Sam P (59), We completed the first four races of the day before a coffee break, during which many sailors again gave time to help tune and fettle boats that had issues during the previous session. However, as we again hit the water for the second set of racing the attrition rate was quite high with two boats experiencing race ending issues, but with both parties taking away the knowledge and advice to come back faster next time out. With nine races completed and the results calculated it was Mick C (46) who led the way with some great results and a clear points lead on the day. With racing completed for the day, it was all hands-on deck to help your duty crew pack away the equipment, for which many thanks are given.
