Great day , a little on the light side breeze wise , but filled in as the morning progressed, Gravesy was OOD and Jen his assistant, all worked well, for the 18 skippers who showed up for this very popular class. Ok someone came with the wrong boat , but that worked well as we had a few visitors, Including one lady and her grandson who traveled all the way from Sleaford , and by the way the little lad had great fun with the spare DF 65, sorry I did not catch names.. We had one visitor from Rotherham who was racing, and he may well become a member in the near future, Martyn A 877 and he showed the locals, most of them the way round claiming a second place with a fine performance.

Racing started bang on time and the course was a beat and run and then a final beat to the finish, after a couple of races this was extended to three beats. Quick of the mark was Martyn A 877 who took the first bullet, with Chris G 489 in second and the much improved Greg C 64 taking third spot, again we saw another contender for the improver trophy Kevin E 02 taking the win, Pete W 678 was struggling, a little but put all that behind him with 4 straight wins, there were several good performances, from various skippers during the morning and the wins were all taken by the top three skippers, having said that the breeze was nobody’s friend, and it was really no use at all trying to chase the odd bit of dark water, and the sailing bible does say don’t do it but hey ho. 10 races completed so the racing was at a good pace.

A very well done to all three on the podium especially Pete W 678 for his win, and many many thanks to the race team, for clearing the Goose poo from the Jetty’s and sorting the morning out. Colin for the results and Cheese burger for the write up.
