DF 65 Summer series round two 21st May 2023
Another fantastic day for racing, Perfect breeze for A + rigs straight down the lake , New Member Steve Ward showed some fine form as he only had an A rig at this time, certainly one to watch , and too add to the improver trophy. Richard J 699 continues to improve, and if not should be added to the improver list. Well done to Rob for the win , and many thank to all for helping out , Assistant OOD did not show, But Mick Cooper helped out .
Great day, enjoyed by all .

DF 95 summer series round two 14thMay 2023
Another good day at Lincoln From Pete W, great turnout 12 skippers
For those that missed it you missed a pleasant morning’s racing.
Pete W the RO arrived early and got the course set up for the forecast wind direction 210degrees. breeze was in and out but sailable.
In total 12 skippers turned up including a potential new member Steve Ward, radio sailing new to him, however experienced radio car racing.
Mick Cooper had apparently checked his boat over, Pete W set it up and off he went, finishing mid fleet after 8 races I believe one to watch, I did advise he looks at the sailing rules but a great first days racing.
With a couple of the supposedly fast chaps at the Globals it gave others the opportunity to get up the leader board, Colin H didn’t need a 2nd chance and had some consistent podium results especially after the tea break.
The start line calling was shared about and over the morning several course changes were required as the forecast wind didn’t actually happen, shifty switching on and off. A great lead didn’t mean a result ,concentration was a must as you could sail windward , leeward and tack without changing course on occasion.
We raced off the east bank and after 8 races the time was up with a team effort to get the kit away in short order.
Pete W won 5 of the 8 races with Colin H in 2nd and Kev E in third.
As Colin stated, close racing not many points separating groups of skippers.
possible new member Steve Ward. 7th overall, with a third place in the 3rd race.
good luck to Mick C and Jen H at the G
Globals, hopefully the wind being more consistent at Fleetwood.
From Colin H
It was one of those tricky days. New member (Steve Ward) came along – and did really well! Cheerful and good-natured day of course. Much advice and emergency fixing on offer. Mostly from Pete – he sure has a knack for helping and settling people into it.
A proper friendly Club day.
Jeff Fisher was there – needed help with a repair from Pete. Eyes okish, but a bit shakey with hands. He’s a great bloke though, razor-sharp brain [he could do fleet board!] , and so funny to chat with 🙂
Some people had battery problems…. just saying….. 🤣
Let me guess , who had battery problems !!!!!!!! Sorry its late , but done from Fleetwood after a sumptuous dinner .

I.O.M Summer series round 3 “Coronation cup”, 7th May 2023.
Warmest day of the year they said , and so it was , one or two small showers to cool us down. Eleven skippers, turned out for round three, the breeze was light and stayed light, making the beats a little tricky, Darin B 98 took the first win, closely followed by Mick C 46 with the Venti, Darin’s Pikanto is in excellent condition, and I did say a few races ago how old the boat was, its quite old !! next race and another Pikanto of Kevin E 20 took the bullet, and I gota say “I did see Kevin having a good old butchers at Darin’s set up prior to racing “!!!!!! Well done Kev , Racing was close up and down the fleet and was surprisingly competitive, what else would you expect at Lincoln. Geoff F 16 was sailing Micks old widget and it was his first time on the water since his eye operation , he thoroughly, enjoyed his morning , and will be out next week with one of the DF’s Pete W 65 was having one or two radio problems including dropping the whole batt pack in the water ,, kindly recovered by Darin, later.
It really was a lovely morning, and everybody had fun , it was always going t be a battle with Rob and Darin and Darin just took the morning on countback , Jen and Dave were not sailing as well as usual, but I am sure we all went home happy.
Well done Darin on the win and also many thanks to all who helped get the gear out and put away at the end.

DF 65 Summer series Round 1 30th April 2023
As Mick would say another great day at Lincoln , Seriously it was a lovely day The breeze was straight down the East bank enabling A plus rigs to be used . Only 7 skippers out to play but it was very good racing throughout the fleet, Colin Toll who was assistant OOD has not yet had a chance to put his 65 together and did all the scoring on the day, Myself and Colin arrived early to get all the OOD stuff out and ready, and when Mick C arrived he went out in the boat and moved a couple of buoys so we had a great course, thank you, I Jen H 69 was quick of the mark but struggle to keep up with Mick C 46 but on the last leg managed to get in front and take the first win, Gordon B 23 took the third spot . From then on it was Mick Mick Mick and more Mick C 46 as we just could not live with his speed and superb boat handling skills , and he went on to win the next 5 races. It was great racing up and down the fleet and at Coffee we insisted that we check out his settings, and so we again set of I ,, Jen H 69 won race 7 and was mighty pleased , Richard J 699 fresh from his experience at Eastbourne was doing very well and just managed to pip Gordon B 23 by one point, Ed had to pack up with Battery problems towards the end and the Two Alans were quite close at the end.
Many thanks to all who help put the kit away, very well done to Mick C 46 for his win. And we hope to see a few of you next week, just before the coronation .
Writeup Jen H , many thanks
