“We are Back”
We have been away from the website for a while for obvious reasons , but just recently started to social sail our RC yachts at our home water at Scotland Farm.
Whilst competetive racing is still on the back burner and the summer series has been cancelled, we do have racing at the club, and we have now started to take results on the day, and will publish them on this site and maybe on our facebook page as well, so at least you get the picture of what is going on at the club. Last Sunday saw 10 skippers racing DF 65’s after 3 races this was reduced to 7 due to electrical probs. It was an enjoyable morning we all kept our distance even on the start line. Pete Walters won on countback, well done to him, and many thanks to all skippers, for keeping to the guidelines and sailing safe.

Tomorow is the 7th June
Well tomorrow a gradual return for some social sailing, after the Covid 19 lockdown, looks a little blustery and we may need some wet weather gear, but it will be great to catch up with some mates after 10 weeks away from the lake, As you all know the summer series has been cancelled, and we can only look forward, to tongue in cheek racing, and practicing our boat handling stuff. The lake is in super condition, and we have two jettys in use, one on each bank . So with a bit of luck catch up tomorow.

UPDATE 3RD JUNE
UPDATE 3RD JUNE 2020
We are gradually coming out of lock down, but I am sure there is still a long way to go. Social sailing is now permitted at Scotland farm in groups of 6 , and because of the space we have , we can sail with 6 on each bank providing social distancing is observed. There will be notices on the clubhouse from Sunday 7th June with certain rules that need to be followed. Members will also have received an email that includes the risk assesment. In the coming weeks we will update members, but at all times the club will follow the MYA guidelines, as to what we can do. Many thanks for your patience at this very difficult time.
DF 95 Winter series round 7
A breezy morning greeted 11 skippers for some fast mainly B suit racing up and down the East bank. Keith H was on fire all morning winning the first race getting a second in race two and then winning the remaining five, Pete Wa had a great morning and managed to take race two but was unable to stop Keith rampage. Roger Bowtle was sailing the first 4 races with his C suit and was well in contention and could have won a couple , when the wind gust’s were strong and long and the B suiters were Finding it tough. Mick Ch normaly pretty quick was given a lesson today in a fleet that is steadily inproving, Our two newest skippers Greg and Tony having only just got their 95’s only had an A rig ready and it was far to windy for that , Kindly Greg and Tony stayed around and learnt a bit and also helped with doing the scoring.
Just a word of thanks to Roger b who always get the kit ready for racing when he is around and all the other helpers who helped get everything sorted in the absense of and official OOD .
A good mornings racing and a huge well done to Keith for the win ( almost whitewash ) in very breezy conditions .
This was the final race in the series So Jen will now sort out the final standings with discards and they will be posted ASAP
