11 Skippers turned up on an overcast morning.  The wind was light from the north, north west.  In the absence of a race officer and assistance race officer it was all hands to the pump, but thanks must go to Dave Rigby and Keith Holmes who stood in as RO and ARO, and also thanks to everyone else who helped out.    Starting on the East Bank nearest the road, racing got off bang on 10am.  After only a few races we moved to the other bank where it was a simple beat up the lake, spreader and a leeward mark, with three beats taken in each race. 

With the change of wind direction from the previous week, some of the salad made an appearance, so racing at times had an element of luck in it. 

A good morning was had by all, including our visitor Simon Fairman who finished third.    Usual suspects up front with Keith Holmes taking the win, closely followed by Dave Rigby and Mike Williams was the third club boat home.  Well done to all.

A bright breezy south westerly greeted 11 skippers, and a few visitors who were not sailing to a fast and furious morning at Scotland farm, the breeze was top suit all morning but as the morning wore on it seemed to veer and get stronger.

Pete W 65 was fast out of the blocks taking the first bullett, with Mick C 46 and Chris E 74 taking second and third. race two saw Chris E 74 start his winning ways with the first of ten wins from 14 races and becoming virtually untouchable during the course of the morning.

Jen H 69 yet again had winch line problems but she is so fast at restring the winch now she only lost one race because of it, and it will undergo further investigation before the Nationals. Dave R 57 despite never getting a win was consistant enough to gain second overall, and Pete W 65 never really got going, and Chris G 11 despite some good races had to depart early, Keith Holmes 88 had rudder servo failure early on and called it a day in race 8 , Mick C had a prior engagement and departed the scene of the crime by noon.

The racing was very competetive, and at times overly so with a tad to much dare I say it shouting and whittling that will be addressed.

The OOD Mike W and his wife MaryAnn did a fantastic job and Jen said she had never seen the results so clear ready to be inputted into the computer , so very well done Mike .

Very well done to Chris E , 14 points from 14 races cant be too bad. Dave R a good result to put into the accumilative results

Wet and windy was the forecast , wet and windy is what we got, having said that what a fantastic mornings racing it was, was it A or was it B suit , some scrambling to change before the first race when 13 skippers came to the line, A suit won the day, and it was a great beat and run course on the favorite East bank.

Keith 39 took the first two races with Peter 110 and Pete 678 getting the second spots, Billy Mac 452 on a rare visit from down the A1 getting third in the first race. Roger Bowtle 448 sporting a B rig got a bullitt in the third race with some exception sailing in the blustery and shifty conditions, and Mick C 46 took the fourth, afetr which a coffee break was called for. Keith then had a run of five races that nailed his position as number 1, only losing out once when pushed into second by Mick C .

Around race 11 the heavens opended big style and skipper took shelter for 15 minutes in cars under trees and in the clubhouse to let it all blow over, which it did, and the sun came out and the breeze went somewhere else to play, and left us with about 7 knots from the south west, many skippers decided enough was enough and retired gracefully.

Jen Hand managed to take second spot by one point , not having won a race all morning now that is consistancy for you, Mike W 839 had servo problems ealy on, but by a clear margin Keith won the morning at a trot, and is the man to beat at Lincoln, so congratulations to him and many thanks to all the helpers for tidying up and putting all the gear away. If you think you can beat Keith come and have a go , visitors are very welcome at lincoln.

A Cloudy but rainfree day greeted 10 skippers to Scotland farm for round 9, OOD Mick Chamberlain ably assisted by a few helpers, set a course along the East bank with a couple of dog legs, one was just about in the wind shadow and proved tricky for some, there was enough breeze to sail probably 4/5 knots but there were times when the breeze faded and coffee break was called.

Jen Hand was was quick of the mark after all her winch line problens over the previous week and nailed the first race with keith in the very well tuned Sedici, coming home second , and Mick C sitting in his usual chair after the start taking third spot, The beat of the line to the first mark that needed leaving to port was tricky and no race was the same, where ever you stated on the line you needed to have some speed on Starboard so that when you did tack you could be lucky to not only get a nice lift on port but the breeze also stayed with you , as I say tricky .

Race two and three and Keith had it sussed and took 2 bullitts followed by a second and then another first, very consistant sailing indeed, Rob Wilson 97 did not seem his usual ruthless self in the light winds, and Chris graves very kindly lent his boat to a visitor Neil who is working locally and decided to pay us a visit and help out with the scoring , Many thanks Neil.

All in all a good mornings racing although tricky winds played there part, at this time of year the club has in the past had other factors such as weed playing there part but here we are in August and the lake is in fantastic condition and I for one did not get hampered by the little green stuff , testament to the measures being taken by the club.

Many thanks to all the helpers to get stuff sorted at the end, Just before i go ,, it was nice to See Mick Cooper at the lake, but he will be away for a while having a new knee , we all wish him well with it and look forward to seeing his yellow peril back at the lake very soon. Very well done to Keith for an emphatic win, the next round in the seres is 15th August when we hope for a better turnout, it will of course be the final time for those going to the Nationals in Fleetwood to fine tune .
