Results of IOM Summer Series Race 7 on 6 July 2014
For once the weather forecast was wrong in our favour and we had a reasonable wind although it was somewhat variable. 11 boats was a good turnout for a summer holiday period. This was followed by 5 Dragons having 4 races and a good time was had by all.
Farmer Bob dropped by to tell us that the ride on mower was mended but did not go into any further details. A working party was arranged for Wednesday as Bob had mowed the long grass and there was plenty of loose cuttings to rake up.
RM SUMMER SERIES 18th May 2014
The usual 5 RMs turned out along with 7 IOMs. It was a warm spring day with a gusty SE wind which did not line up with any of the buoys on the lake. After some sterling work by Bob and Gordon in the boat a good course was arranged with a beat into the corner which was done twice. As can be seen from the results racing was fairly close. The second half of the schedule was sailed with a one minute countdown which seemed to work well and saved a little time.
Dragon Force Summer Series Round 3 11th May 2014
With 10 boats on the water and a lively Westerly wind sailing was good. The wind strength was enough to put those skippers with only A rig at a disadvantage at times but overall honours were fairly even between A and B rigs. The occasional light shower dampened the grass but not the enjoyment of the day.
