Dragon Force 65 Summer Series Round 1 23rd April 2017

First round of the summer series and a good turnout with 11 skippers, a steady westerly with nice warm sunshine made for some great races . Ivan Stevenson started well with a fine win, and then Keith Holmes clicked into gear and proved the master of the Dragons with some fine sailing eventually winning the day with 9 points from 9 races, Great thanks to the race team of Roger Bacon and Bob Geary who did an excellent job.  Look forward to the next round which is in the calendar.

IOM Winter Championship and Dragon Flite 95 Winter Series on 16th April 2017

Well thats it the last round done and dusted and congratulations to Keith Holmes for an emphatic win, The weather was actually great , decent breeze and a great course set on the south bank. 8 races were completed, all on top suit, and the rain held off, well just a spot or two, Phil Harpham showed a good  set of results as did Mick Cooper with his Lintel getting better as the morning went on.

Our many thanks to Roger Bowtle our OOD and one or two helper to get the lake organised and especially to all the competitors for making it such an enjoyable morning.

4 Skippers in the DF 95 fleet came to the line for the last in this winter series and Gordon Bennett took the honours from Ivan , It was nice to see Phil Turner who is very new to sailing having a go woith a borowed boat and by the end of racing was getting around the course in promising fashion. The DF 95’s again started with the I.O.M fleet and apart from one small incident the two fleets sailed well with no nasty repurcusions, proving once again that for now the two fleets can work together,

Well done to Gordon for the race win.

IOM Winter Championship and DF 95 Winter Series 26th March 2017

Another sunny day at Scotland Farm welcomed 8 IOM and 2 DF 95 Skippers. not a bad turn out for Mothers Day. The wind proved somewhat unco-operative, varying in strength from very light to a gentle breeze and in direction from NE to NW.

Well done to the  RO Dave Thomas for sticking to his decision to sail from the South bank as this provided some good sailing for most of the morning.

Dragon Force 65 Winter Series 12th March 2017

Round seven and a very nice morning at Scotland Farm, wind was non starter with just a bit of flat_ _ _ _ _ from the five skippers.  Race officer Ivan laid a fantastic course and we managed three races. Although the racing was slow , we all learned quite a bit about life, Allergies, Polups, Prostrate, gluten , and gluten free, you name it,  it was discussed  at length in some case’s, The rain was not enough to wet our heads and the wall to wall sunshine was hiding. Well done to Ed who had his best result to date in one race 3rd . Not many rounds left before the summer series starts !!!!
