IOM Summer Series Round 1 6th May 2018

A great day dawned Sun for a change but very light winds , eventually the forecast breeze came 3/5 knot from the Sout East. Darin was quickly into his stride, and the Brit Pops  were going to be hard to beat, By race four the breeze had got a tad strnger 5/7 knots and some good racing all thru the fleet was had on the south bank . Congratulations to Darin , as winner and many thanks to OOD’s Darin and Chris G for keeping the racing moving in a relaxed manner.

A mere 4 skippers arrived for the first race of the Season which gave plenty of time to welcome Geoff Streeter, who performed creditably well considering it was his first time on the water.

The wind was N to NE and of a strength which kept all skippers on A rigs. The strength and direction resulted in a bitterly cold morning leading one skipper to ask ” If this is the first of the Summer Series, why are we wearing all this gear?”

Duty Officers were Ed and Ivan with the usual support of all concerned.

Tie broken in favour of Gordon, who had more second places.

Dragon Force 65 Winter Series Round 9 15th April 2018

A mere 6 entries attended what turned out to be a very pleasant mornings sailing. Temperatures approaching double figures and a gentle SW breeze allowed for a course along the South bank. Two beats and a run and gentle pressure from the RO allowed 11 races in the time available.

Thanks to Gordon ably assisted by Roger and Keith for keeping the action going.

IOM Winter Series Round 5 11th March 2018

At last a dry double digit emperature day. Unfortunately there was no wind initially. A drift from the East was just detectable by start of racing which increased to a light breeze during the morning. Although some individual raaces were quite spread out, the final results were surprisingly close.
