IOM Winter Championship and DF 95 Winter Series Heat 5 4th February 2018

The wind for today was light to moderate Northerly moving round towards the East during the morning. Fortunately enough marks were in place to cover both eventualities with a course change at the coffee break. With two fleets on the water and a fairly long course the usual cooperation of all skippers was required to achieve 8 races in the allotted time.

As can be seen from the results there was some close racing with a range of skippers having some good results. The tie between Jen and Chris was only broken by using the discards.

IOM Winter Series Heat 3 28th January 2018

The weather forecast promised winds gusting to 20 mph from the SW during the morning. It was not wrong. The direction made for an excellent long course up and down the East bank. The strength favoured those skippers with a rapid rig change technique. A mix of A rig and B rig changed to a mix of B and C after the coffee break. Congratulations to Chris and Gordon for a close end result and to Roger for hanging in there for a good third.

As can be seen from the results there was a high attrition rate with 10 boats starting and 5 finishing.

Finally thanks to the Officers and helpers who kept the morning running smoothly with a firm but sympathetic approach.

DF 65 Winter Series Round 5 21st January 2018

Fantastic day at the lake Opps , sorry I lied, Light winds heavy, snow slippery jettys, cold clubhouse and that was after we set light to the toilet to try and defrost the lock !!!!  and i broke my flask. still it was not all bad. Sailing up and down the East bank having a chin wag talking about the skippers who were missing this great morning , you would be surprised who we talked about !! any way back to the racing , Mick Chamberlain was in some kind of Zone cos he won all the races, ok he did have an A + rig but so did a few others, Ed was parcially on dog patrol, but the rest of us did the best we could, 6 races were enough , quite a long course, and we were all pleased we turned out,  results below ,

Series results are also up .
