READY FOR THE 9TH
OK Sunday is Radio Marblehead day, and in the winter series so far Bob Geary is running away with it with his old Berlio design, Come on guys dust of your boats and get down to the lake and contest it, I can think of seven R.M’s in the club who could be contesting this Winter series. Sunday will be perfect, I checked the weather forecast and it brings sunshine yet again, and as for wind you may need some smaller sails but the boats will be at maximum speed .
Also just a reminder after racing the R.M’s we will be doing three Dragon Force races on a shorter course for the winter series in that class , we had seven out last week lets see who has been working hard this week and will have their boat on the water , remember we have twelve in the club and looking at the weather the wind is set to decrease as the morning goes on .
have fun on Sunday
SAILING ON 2nd FEBRARY 2014
Another great days sailing with a SW wind testing the top end of the IOM A rig. A fine turnout of 12 IOM.s and 8 Dragons which must be a record for club sailing. 9 races were sailed, 6 for IOM and 3 for Dragons. The suggestion is to combine the 3 Dragon races today with ( hopefully ) 3 more next weekend, to substitute for the Dragon race abandoned on 26th January.

SUNDAY 2ND FEBRUARY RACING
Hi everybody, we have had quite a bit of rain recently but lets look on the bright side, the lake has got another two foot of water in it and it can’t rain forever. We have been very lucky so far this winter and last Sunday was an exception, The Bright side is coming this Sunday see below, Looks like sunshine to me from 9am till 3pm, it will be a tad chilly so put your long john’s on, It’s an I.O.M meeting 15 knots from the south-west so it might just be B suit. We are all looking forward to the Summer and one or two members are taking steps to upgrade to better boats (I.O.M )It will make the racing more competitive I am sure of that. Also over the next few weeks I shall be trying to bring a new design to the club, not sure if it will come off, but I am trying, I will keep you all up to speed on any developments.
If you have not seen already the series results are being posted as they happen, with Martin narrowly in front with the I.O.M class , we need to try to get more R.M’s on the water in two weeks time. Please remember to Bring your Dragon Force on Sunday as we shall have at least three of last weeks regatta races to try to catch up. Keep your eye out for January’s “Video of the Month”
See you all on Sunday

NEWS 27th January 2014
OK , there were five people at the lake on Sunday and thats five more than I thought would be there, The weather lived up to its promise with Driving rain strong winds and freezing cold , we had four Dragons at the lake and three sailed but one,,,,, well he just could not get going , Mick had a C suit Norman had a B suit and Ivan had a top suit , we didn’t do any proper races but we had a bit of fun, Mick went out in the dingy to round up the buoys that had been spread around by the strong winds of the previous week, the dingy was afloat and had pulled its concrete weight out of the ground , the lake has got about two foot more water in it than it had last week , and the jetty needs to be repositioned or else we will need wellies to get to it. We had a cup of tea and put the world to rights for an hour , My little dragon was fantastic with its tiny rig on, but in the end we all went home to the warm and dry. But hey next week it is round two for the I.O.M yachts , so let us try and beat our best total of boats on the water for this year , and have some fantastic racing, Try and get down a bit earlier than you are used to because we WILL start at 10 am, ready or not , It has also been suggested that when we have finished the I.O.M we do three Dragon races , to try and recover some of the lost race’s on Sunday, and then the following week race three more , If you would like to see this happen send me an email, and I will then let you all know before Friday.
Do you remember this event last year , it will happen again on the 23rd February 2014, so if you want to race make sure your boat is prepared and Measured, and if you want to help just let me know , some of the top skippers from the North and Midlands will be there, so book your bacon butt’y early.
In the meantime see you all next Sunday at Scotland Farm
