MYA Marblehead Ranking event 2 of 2019 is hosted by Lincoln Radio Sailing Club at Scotland Farm on Sunday March 17th 2019

1. Event Schedule

Sunday 17th Mar

09:45 Race Officer’s briefing

10:00 Racing starts

16:00 No race to start after this time

Any race in progress will be abandoned if the first boat in ‘A’ heat has not finished before 16:30 hours.

Prize giving as soon as possible after the last race is completed

2. Venue

Lincoln club are holding this event at Scotland Farm on Eagle Lane, Thorpe on the Hill, LN6 9BP

3. Organising Authority

The organising authority for the event is the Model Yachting Association (MYA) and responsibility for the management of the event is delegated by the MYA to Lincoln RSC

4. Rules

The event will be governed by the current version of the following rules:

* Racing Rules of Sailing as changed by the RRS Appendix E

* Equipment Rules of Sailing

* MYA Regulations for the Organisation of National Championships

* MYA Standard Sailing Instructions

* The RYA Racing Charter

* International Marblehead Class Rules

* Heat Management System (HMS)

5. Entries & Eligibility

Entry is open to all MYA affiliated members.

The number of entries shall be limited by the provisions of the Heat Management System (HMS).

Competitors will be notified of any necessary changes to sail numbers in the event of a clash.

Entry for all competitors opens from Wednesday February 13th 2019.

Entries shall be made before the closing date for entries, 23.59hrs Wednesday 13th March 2019 as follows:

* Online, using the on-line entry system via the MYA website.

* By e-mail attaching a completed event entry form below.

* By post sending a copy of the form below.

After the closing date late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organising authority and may incur an additional late entry fee.

All entries will be posted on the Marblehead Class Website http://www.marbleheadsailing.wordpress.com as they are received along with any sail number clashes.

6. Entry Fees

The entry fee of £10 shall be paid at registration on race day. The entry will only be valid once the entry fee has been received.

Anyone who pre-enters and does not turn up are still liable for their entry fee.

7. Parking

There is a car park area which is at the lake side.

8. Lunch and Refreshments

Hot drinks will be available.

9. Toilet facilities

Toilets are available on site

10. Registration

Registration will be held on the day in the club hut.

The following shall be presented to the Race Committee at the time requested during the event:

* Owners should attend with a copy of their measurement certificate which will be checked at the event.

* All boats must be registered with, and display a sail number issued by the UK Class Registrar or their personal sail number.

* If applicable, the owner’s valid personal sail number certificate

* Emergency Contact details if this has changed or not supplied when an entry was made.

If any of the above documents are not available at the event, but a competitor claims that they exist, the competitor shall sign a declaration to that effect and send a copy of the missing document to the Race Committee within seven days of the end of the event.

11. Measurement

The Race Committee may direct that boats in the event shall be check measured. Random spot checks may be conducted throughout the duration of the event.

12. Frequencies

Permitted frequencies are 27 MHz, 40 MHz and 2.4 GHz

For frequency bands other than 2.4GHz, a minimum of five (5) frequencies shall be stated on the entry form and be available at the event.

13. Lake side and Launching

The lake side is grassy, there are floating jetties, waders should not be required

14. Scoring and Racing System

Scoring and Racing System shall be as per Rules section above.

15. Protests

The Race Officer reserves the right to use observers drawn from the competitors. A protest committee will be appointed by the Race Committee to hear any protests arising from the event and may comprise competitors not involved in the incident.

16. Competitors with Disabilities

Competitors that require any form of help or special requirements should, prior to entry, get in touch with the club contact given in Section 5 to check if the club is able to help with the provision of any such special requirements. The onus is on the competitor to establish whether the available facilities are adequate before deciding to enter the event

17. Prizes and trophies

Prizes will be awarded; the quantity will be dependent upon the number of entries.

18. Accommodation.

The club website lists several hotels and B&B’s in the area.

20. Disclaimer of Liability

All those entering or taking part in this event do so at their own risk and responsibility.

The Model Yachting Association, the organising authority, the host club and any other parties involved in the organisation of this event disclaim any and every responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or

inconvenience that might occur to persons and goods both ashore or on the water as a consequence of entering or participating in the event covered by this Notice of Race.

At all times the responsibility for the safety of their boat and themselves plus the decision to participate or continue must rest with the competitor.

Practice

Please note, should anybody wish to practice on the Saturday 16th , the lake shall be open from 1330 hrs till no later than 5pm .

Catering arrangements on Sunday 17th March

From around 0830 on Sunday 17th there will be bacon butties for a small cost ,free tea and coffee all day till around 330pm but you MUST bring your own cup or mug 

At around 1230 lunch will be served and will consist consist of  soup and french bread for all skippers and helpers CUP’S will be supplied.

Please be tidy with you rubbish and use bin liners supplied around the club house or take it home with you
