IOM Winter Series Round 5 11th March 2018
At last a dry double digit emperature day. Unfortunately there was no wind initially. A drift from the East was just detectable by start of racing which increased to a light breeze during the morning. Although some individual raaces were quite spread out, the final results were surprisingly close.

DF 65 Winter Series Heat 7 25th February 2018
The day started dry and bright but with a cold easterly breeze which gradually increased during the morning. Most skippers took the opportunity to try out their shiny new A+ rigs. The early sailing was somewhat mixed while skippers came to terms with the sensitivity with which these rigs react to adjustments. They also proved difficult to handle as the wind strength increased. The A rigs came out after the break
Many thanks to the officials and helpers and to Gordon who, despite not having a boat to sail, stayed to do the scoring.

IOM Winter Series Heat 4 18th February 2018
The morning started dull and misty with a very light wind from the South East but became brighter and less cold with wind improving to light from the South. Initially the course was along the South bank but was changed at mid way to the North South diagonal. Both courses proved challenging.
There were 13 entrants and every skipper sailed in every race.
Thanks to Jen and Peter for running the morning and to Chaz who, despite not having a boat to sail, came down to do the scoring.

The day was bright, the wind was fresh and the temperature was +4 or thereabouts. The initial reaction was “what are we doing here” but with suitable clothing a good time appeared to be had by everyone. The wind was from the North West which meant a long course along the South bank. However with the strength of the wind and encouragement from the Duty officer 8 races were completed.
Thanks to Phil H for keeping things moving under difficult circumstances. The start box battery connector had failed and Phil was doing a manual (vocal ?) countdown.
