DF95 NATIONALS AT LINCOLN
Come to a lake in Lincoln that doesn’t even show up on google maps they said, in November they said, it will be freezing cold & blow a gale they said, it’ll rain, you’ll get muddy and parts of your body will go numb they said. Well they weren’t wrong but I’m still happy I said yes to the inaugural DF95 Nationals at Lincoln Model Yacht Club.

Dragon Force Winter Series Round 1 30th October 2016
A very light to non existent breeze from the south ish delayed the start by half an hour, the nine competitors then sailed through without taking a tea break and completed 4 races before retiring to the club for a drink and chat .
Congratulations to Keith for winning the first winter series od DF 65 racing .

IOM Summer Series Round 8 23rd October 2016
A gentle breeze from the North East allowed a course up and down the East bank with only a little shading from the North. A minor adjustment of the windward mark was enough to avoid all the “holes”.
Duty Officer, Niel Colman, kept a steady pace all morning and 11 races were completed in the time allowed.

IOM Summer Championship and Dragon Flite Summer Series Round 9 16th October 2016
4 IOMs and 2 DFs , although disappointing, turned out to be a reasonable attendance considering the weather. Heavy rain, with periods of even heavier rain, continued for the period up to the refreshment break, followed by a gradual improvement into blue sky and sunshine at the end. The wind was pretty consistent but blowing off the car park meant considerable turbulence over a large part of the course. There did not appear to be any incidences of weed. In view of the small fleet all boats were started at the same time without problems.
Thanks to the Duty RO Norman Fish who was at the lake early to set up and kept a steady pace through the morning.

This marks the end of the Summer Season, check the web page for the final placings.
