Round seven and a very nice morning at Scotland Farm, wind was non starter with just a bit of flat_ _ _ _ _ from the five skippers.  Race officer Ivan laid a fantastic course and we managed three races. Although the racing was slow , we all learned quite a bit about life, Allergies, Polups, Prostrate, gluten , and gluten free, you name it,  it was discussed  at length in some case’s, The rain was not enough to wet our heads and the wall to wall sunshine was hiding. Well done to Ed who had his best result to date in one race 3rd . Not many rounds left before the summer series starts !!!!

Wall to wall rain greeted the13 skippers for round five of the Championship , in a very nice south easterly breeze , Top suit was favoured just,, and we saw two new B/P racing and doing very well. Jen’s old B/P was sold to Graham K who raced it for the first time and had a consistant morning. Jens new B/P was also going very quick,   It was good to see Alan N GBR 0 having a decent day and even more impressive was Bob G who had his problems,  but when the boat was going he posted two wins. The racing was good all through the fleet, and eventual winner Keith H gbr 88 with his new B/P will be a force to be reckoned with by the time the summer series comes around , Well done Keith,  and we must also give a big thank you to Graham Allen for a super job as OOD with help from one or two other skippers it made for a very enjoyable morning ,, Apart from the rain of course .

The DF 95 fleet was down to three skippers but provide some good racing and hopefully a DF convert in Graham Allen, who was well in the mix untill the winch drum came off in the second to last race. Ivan won the split decision posting 4 wins to Gordons 3 , exciting racing but the rain spoiled it for most after all we are not getting any younger but at least we are all home now and dried out . Well done Ivan

Well not much to say about 26th February at Scotland Farm , cos if you were not there you probably missed the best racing, and the biggest entry for a club race in a while ,  loadsa smiling faces , new boats, old boats, this is what we pay our subs for. 17 skippers, almost wall to wall sunshine 12 degrees, and if you stayed in bed well all I can say is rowlock’s , Ok rant over, Chris started well with a bullitt in the first race, Dave having a battery problem meant he did not finish, but sure enough his brand new britpop came back to form winning the next three out of four. It all started with a good B suit breeze apart from the Lintel of Mick Cooper who chanced the A rig, to be fair the breeze was a bit up and down but once you were rigged you left well alone , to be fair also, Mick Cooper will be going home a very happy bunny gaining three second places in a fleet of very good skippers and he has only been sailing for a year, well done old man. The course was three very long beats and two runs almost the length of the lake the wind was perfect, the course was so long only 8 races were held. There were battles going on throughout the fleet and it made for great veiwing .  The V9 of Mick Chamberlain saved the best to last with two straight wins after a fairly consistant performance, (Ok trumpet back in the box) and finally topped the leaderboard,  Dave Burke just nicking second from Chris Elliott, with Rob Wilson getting fourth, I think everybody enjoyed themselves,  need we say more dont miss the next round, put it in your diary now IT IS the 19th MARCH

A good day for sailing but a low turn out.

Once again the forecast was about right, 10 to 12 mph from the West. Not quite the Carribean weather they forecast for early next week but a lot warmer than last week and dry. A two lap course along the south bank gave the 6 boat fleet some good sailing and the RO kept the pace up to allow 10 races to be completed.
