I.O.M WINTER 2014/15, ROUND TWO
A glorious morning welcomed 16 competitors to Scotland farm for round two of the I,O,M winter series. at 9am the lake was still with not a breath of wind, but in a short time the breeze filled in from the North west allowing a course to be set along the south bank.Rob Wilson 97 stormed into an early lead winning race 1 with Darin 98 and Mick C 46 taking up 2nd and third , old campaigner Chaz 99 showing some very good form posted a fourth and Mick H 131 coming home a very creditable fifth. Race 2 was won by a newcomer to our sport Tim Hand sailing his mothers Robot 169, Tim is a very good dingy sailor and for the short time he has been at it shows a lot of promise for the future, Mick C 46 was again second, with Graham Allen 88 third, By the 3rd race the breeze was a good steady 8/10 knots in warm sunshine, time for Darin 98 to step up a gear and take control by winning the next 4 races, and letting the rest fight it out , Bob Geary 58 was sailing well with his newish Evo 3 , whilst Allan Newman 09 was having one or two range problems, race 5 was a good one for Mick H 131 posting a second, but then not able to to follow through came 12th in race 6, still very fine form for one of the most improved sailors at the club. Gordon Bennett 12 has still not quite got the hang of his new AB4 but we all know it is quite a quick boat. Chris Corrin was also sailing an AB4 and showed good consistency in the first five races. Steve Hesp 14 a newcomer to the club was having a royal battle with Bert Whitehead 72 and I am sure we shall see a big improvement in these two during the winter. Final Results are below, but I would just like to say many thanks to Jim and Norman for doing the scoring for us, and also for all the guys who turned up to race and make the mornings racing pretty exciting and very worth while.
Next UP is round 3 and it will be on Sunday 21st DECEMBER 2014, so till then
Happy Xmas and a prosperous new year if I don’t see you

Dragon Force, RG 65 1st Round
With the fickle weather Lincolnshire has been having of late , the first round of the Dragon Force/ RG 65 winter series had to be abandoned due to a total lack of wind. The day was dismal and the heavy falling rain put most people off from making the journey. Ten competitors did in fact turn up and the banter at like side was fantastic as we waited in vain for the breeze to arrive . And so the series is still there for the asking, but now only six rounds will be played out . dates for your diary are as follows
ROUND 2 14th DECEMBER
ROUND 3 4TH JANUARY 2015
ROUND 4 25TH JANUARY
ROUND 5 15TH FEBRUARY
ROUND 6 15TH MARCH
ROUND 7 29TH MARCH
